Elkhart 2012 Clean & Green!

Let’s Keep Elkhart Clean & Green in 2012!
Happy New Year!  2012 has been designated as the year to clean up the
Village of Elkhart!

The Village of Elkhart Board is committed to tackling anything that spoils the
look of our village ... and we want your help.  Our aim is tell everyone in the
village, from children to the elderly, how we can work together to improve
our environment.

There are properties that need to be repaired and vehicles that need to be
cleared to make our village clean and green in 2012.  We need to work
together to clean up and green up!  Have you seen the following?

    Abandoned vehicles
    Dead Animals
Blocked / Flooded Drains & Gutters
Grass that needs to be cut
    Damaged / Faulty Street Lights
    Overflowing garbage cans
    Damaged / Obstructed sidewalks
    Vandalism

Beginning January 2012, the Village of Elkhart will send out letters to the
property owners whose property needs attention and/or who have vehicles
that are unlicensed and inoperable on their property.  There is a tiny minority
of villagers who think it's acceptable to litter our streets, abandon old cars or
not keep their property tidy.  If you see anything that needs attention, the
Village wants to know about it!  Place your suggestions in the water bill
payment drop box at Village Hall.  All suggestions will be confidential and
anonymous.

There has never been a more important time for us to take care of our
environment. Whether it is the countryside, parks, homes or streets - we
need to keep our environment clean, safe and green.
