Bulletin Board:

New Elkhart ECHO Guidelines
(beginning January 2016)

The printed Elkhart ECHO is published monthly by the Village of Elkhart and
is an important source of information for the community.  Costs of printing
the ECHO, however, have made it necessary to make some changes
beginning with the January 2016 issue.  The Village bears the cost of copying
(paper, ink, photocopy machine), and these costs continue to rise.
A printed copy of the Elkhart ECHO is placed in the mailboxes of Village
residents on the Saturday following the Village Board meeting every month.
The Elkhart ECHO is available online on the Village web site at
http://www.
elkhartillinois.us/
and a monthly calendar of events is available on Elkhart’s
Facebook page at The Village of Elkhart, IL -
http://www.facebook.
com/ElkhartIL/

The following guidelines will help us be able to continue providing the ECHO
monthly to everyone in the Village in printed format.

1.  BUSINESS CARDS
A business card size ad in the ECHO costs $30.00 per year ($2.50 per
month).  Payment for 2016 is due by January 4, 2016.  No business ads
larger than business card size are accepted.  Payment to:  Village of Elkhart.
Note on your check memo line “2016 ECHO.”

2.  FLYERS (AND FORMS) FOR EVENTS
Flyers for Elkhart clubs and organizations (such as NAG Bake Sale, Library
Summer Program, Elkhart Country Fair, EHS events, etc.) are limited to one
page.  If your organization has sign-up forms or more information (for
example:  EHS forms, Library brick sale form, or a schedule of events),
provide an online link for this information.  Forms will not be accepted in the
ECHO.  You may want to print forms and mention in the ECHO where printed
forms can be obtained locally, such as at the Illini Bank, Post Office, Library,
or local shops.

3.  CHURCH NEWS
Every church in Elkhart is limited to one page for church news.  Each church
needs to determine what is important to be included in the ECHO.
Suggestions include important dates, service times, prayer concerns, and
upcoming meetings.  If your church has a link to an online newsletter, include
the link for those who wish to read more information.

4.  MT. PULASKI DISTRICT #12 MEETING MINUTES
The link will be printed in the ECHO for the district’s monthly meeting
minutes.  For example:
 http://www.mtpulaski.k12.il.us/archived-board-of-
education/
Athletic schedules, honor rolls, and Students of the Month will
still be printed in the ECHO.

5.  CALENDAR – No changes

6.  VILLAGE BOARD NEWS – No changes

7.  ADVERTISEMENTS - Ads such as but not limited to personal items for sale,
real estate for rent or sale, and classes that have fees are $5.00 per ad per
issue.  Limit:  Four (4) lines – no more than 60 words.  Ad text and payment
(checks should be made out to Village of Elkhart) must be placed in the
Water Payment box at the Village Hall by end-of-day (midnight) of the first
Monday of every month to be accepted for that month’s ECHO.
